KROWN doesn't explain its acquisitions.

The Archive's cartography team was brought in on the third day.

They had been asked to map the arches — to determine sequence, orientation, hierarchy. Which arch came first. Which ones were entrances and which were exits. The gold lines between the keystones suggested a system. The team spent two sessions trying to read it.

They submitted a joint report. The report contained one conclusion:

"The lines connect the arches. The arches do not connect to anything else."

The report is in the file. The file is not closed.

Four staff members have passed through the Archive's storage room where this sheet is kept. Each one reported stopping at the door longer than necessary. None of them entered without being asked. One of them, when asked why she hesitated, said: "I wasn't sure which side of the door I was on."

Her comment is in the file.

The Queen found this in a tailor's home on the upper floor of a building with no listed address. The tailor was not present. The sheet was on the bed, made — as if someone had just left, or was about to return.

The Queen took it. Left the door open behind her.
