North Star | Diopside Drop Earrings

9ct yellow gold. A round chrome diopside, 4mm, set inside a teardrop-shaped frame with an infinity-knot bridge connecting the stone to the hook. The frame is open — the gold outlines the teardrop shape without filling it, so the stone sits suspended inside negative space.

Chrome diopside is mined almost exclusively in eastern Siberia. The green comes from chromium in the crystal structure — the same element that makes emeralds green. The colour is saturated and consistent in a way that most green stones aren't. At 4mm it's present without being large.

The hook is 9ct yellow gold, smooth and continuous. No hinge, no mechanism. Sits cleanly on the lobe.
