9ct yellow gold. A rectangular citrine in an emerald cut, held inside an octagonal frame with a ribbed outer edge — parallel ridges running around the perimeter of the setting like the teeth of a gear. The frame is the same warm yellow as the stone. At certain angles they read as one continuous object.

Citrine is a variety of quartz. The colour comes from iron traces in the crystal structure — the deeper the iron content, the more saturated the amber. This stone is mid-range: warm, clear, the colour of late afternoon light. Not pale, not dark. Consistent.

The ribbed octagonal frame is the design decision that makes this pendant specific. It's architectural in a way that most pendant settings aren't. The geometry is deliberate.
