KROWN doesn't explain its acquisitions. This one came with a team report.

The fabric arrived rolled, not folded. Inside the roll: a handwritten field report, fourteen pages, filed by a four-person survey team. No institution named. No date. The report's header reads only: Underwater Observation Station — Final Cartography Session.

They had been mapping the sky from below the surface for what the report describes as "an extended period." The station had a viewing aperture — a sealed transparent section in the ceiling through which the team tracked stars through the water above them. The distortion, they noted, was significant. But consistent. They had learned to read it.

The duvet is their complete chart. Every circle is a star. The filled ones were visible on the final session. The outlined ones had already gone dark by the time the chart was made — not obscured, gone. The gold lines are the constellations they named during the observation period. They named forty-one. Thirty-seven of those names are in the report. Four pages are missing.

The pillow is the last entry in the report. Dated separately from the rest — later, by an unspecified interval. Thirteen circles only. The team's final note reads:

"Aperture visibility reduced. Thirteen confirmed remaining. We are no longer certain if the reduction is atmospheric, positional, or permanent. We have stopped speculating. We are recording what we can see."

The report ends there. No closing signature. No extraction date. The station's location is not recorded anywhere in the fourteen pages.

The Archive has had three astronomers review the star positions on the duvet. None could match the chart to any known sky — from any hemisphere, any historical period, any calculated position above or below the equator.
