The Queen didn't find this one. It found her.

She was three days into a field investigation — a different tailor, a different address — when she noticed the sheet in a window. Second floor. Building she hadn't been assigned to. She stood on the street for four minutes before going in.

The tailor wasn't home. The sheet was hanging to dry, inside, near the window. The Queen took it down. Folded it. Left before anyone saw her.

She filed no retrieval form. She called the Archive's materials lead from the street and described what she was seeing — a trail of circles, moving upper-right, one mark ahead of everything else at the corner. The materials lead asked her to bring it in immediately.

The Queen said: "I already have it."

The Archive logged it under a case number that doesn't correspond to any active investigation. When the director asked which case it belonged to, the materials lead said she didn't know. The director didn't follow up.

The trail moves from lower-left to upper-right. The mark at the top-right corner is alone — ahead of the rest by a distance the Archive's geometry team has described as "deliberate." The mark at the lower-left is also alone — behind everything, or first, depending on which direction you read it.

The Queen reads it upper-right to lower-left. She hasn't said why.
