KROWN doesn’t explain its acquisitions.

The tailor lived there for four months.

She said the city had been built over three generations, each generation building higher than the last until the founders’ district lay buried somewhere within the cloud’s lower mass, unreachable.

The Archive’s urban planning team reviewed her field sketches. They identified load-bearing structures, drainage systems, and what appeared to be a market district near the eastern edge. Their report concluded:

“The engineering is sound. The foundation is not.”

The foundation is cloud.

The report did not elaborate.

The tailor left when the city began to move. Not drift. Move. With intention, she said. Toward something. She didn’t stay to find out what.

The Archive tracked the cloud twice after her return. Each time, it was somewhere else. The direction of movement has never been consistent.
